Dr. Dean Dohrman is a Missouri State Representative, Board Member, and Senior Research Fellow at the American Leadership & Policy Foundation. Dohrman is Lead Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and Public Management at Colorado State University – Global Campus and a public policy expert.
As a State Representative, Dr. Dohrman serves Missouri’s 51st District near Whiteman, Air Force Base. Dohrman is a member of the House committees on Veterans, Higher Education, Education Appropriations, and Emerging Agricultural Issues. Dohrman is currently completing his work as Vice Chairman of the Interim Committee on Missouri Military Impact and Sustainability. In addition, he is one of four Missouri legislators to serve on the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL). At the NCSL, he serves on Veterans and Military Task Force.
As an educator, Dr. Dohrman instructs university courses in government, law, and public administration. Dohrman is also Coordinator of Public Management and Applied Social Science at Colorado State University. As frequent media contributor, Dohrman has a passion for educating citizens on responsible civics. He is presently finishing a manuscript on the history of American constitutionalism – a citizen’s guide.
In addition to public service, Dr. Dohrman is a board member at the Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants. He began his agricultural and business career as a Presidential Management Intern working with export programs at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.). Dohrman went on to work at the U.S.D.A. and later became an export manager with a Fortune 500 company.
Dr. Dohrman holds a PhD in public policy and masters in political science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a masters and bachelors degree in history from the University of Central Missouri. He lives on the family farm near La Monte, Missouri.
