Win Johnson is a Board Member and Sr. Fellow the American Leadership and Policy Foundation. Win is also an appellate attorney and the Legal Division Director of the Alabama Administrative Office of Courts (AOC) where he works as a liaison between the legislature and the Unified Judicial System of Alabama.
Before assuming the directorship of the Legal Division of the Alabama AOC, Johnson deployed to Afghanistan for a year to act as an Advisor in the 205 CAT, A Corps Advisor Team that assisted the Afghan military in improving their military. Win worked primarily with the Afghan Army’s legal community.
Win was Of Counsel with Webb & Eley, P.C., working cases in defense of county government, sheriffs, and sheriffs’ deputies before the trial and appellate courts. Before that he had worked as Senior Staff Attorney in the Alabama Chief Justice’s Office, working specifically for Chief Justice Perry Hooper and Chief Justice Roy Moore.
Win has extensive experience in voter reform law and is the author of Courting Votes in Alabama. Win’s reform cases have been used as precedent in landmark cases including the SCOTUS decision of the 2000 Presidential Election. Win resides in Montgomery Alabama with his wife Beth and their three children.
